Michael Cooper, S.J. Bio 2017

Father Michael has been a teacher at both the high school and university level as well as a workshop presenter and preacher for over forty years. While having an academic doctorate from the Institute Catholique de Paris, his focus has always been very pastoral and practical, aka incarnational. From his Jesuit-Ignatian Tradition he teaches in a way so that others can understand and live their own faith in the real world as well as enthusiastically labors in the Mission of Jesus and the Church in the twenty-first century. Father Michael came to educational technology in ministry through his involvement on the Board of Digital Discipleship Network. In that capacity he has also participated in Digital Discipleship Boot Camp and attended numerous workshops and key note addresses by experts in this dynamic reality of technology in service of ministry. He regularly draws upon technology to illustrate and concretize theology and the mission of the Church today in his teaching and preaching. Father Michael says, “Both as a university professor and a board member of DDN [Digital Discipleship Network], I feel anything I can do to support this essential element of educational technology in today’s teaching and proclaiming of the Good News in our various ministries and in ecclesial endeavors of all sorts remains a vital part of my professional and pastoral commitment.”
